Reiki for Children

After working with children and young people for 20 + years I have seen how children are so open to new experiences and more likely to believe in things they cannot see. Introducing Reiki to children not only helps them in the present moment but it also equips them with valuable self-healing tools they can use throughout their lives. I have often wondered how past challenges in my life and indeed loved ones lives, could have flowed easier, had I learned the techniques sooner. Children have access to their life-force energy anytime and the Reiki is a way to tune in, whether for physical issues or emotional struggles. Reiki for children not only nurtures their spiritual growth, but can also instil a sense of responsibility towards their own well-being and the well-being of those around them.
I have given Reiki to parents and their children plus sent distant healing. Reiki has all the same benefits for children that it does for adults. Reiki can help children to not worry, regulate their emotions, such as anger, practice gratitude and calm themselves down.
The traditional Reiki healing system that was brought to us by Mikao Usui, is not readily available in simplified terms easy for children to understand and so I have decided to make my own.
The Reiki 1 handbook for children (aged approx 4-7 years) includes activities that can be used to help children absorb and put into practice what the parent is learning.
In addition, there are visual aids to keep children interested and engaged.
Benefits of Sharing your Level 1 Reiki with your Child / Family
Many children struggle with difficult emotions, self-worth and increasing stress in our competitive, demanding world. Children need all the support they can get to learn how to effectively process their emotions and connect with others in healthy ways. This is where Reiki skills can help.
Reiki offers something for every child. The tools help teach awareness of our inner being and acceptance of our external experiences. Reiki can help reduce stress, improve focus and attention, develop resilience, nurture calm, joy, and optimism, whilst cultivating kindness towards others and themselves.

What's included in the handbook to support Parent + Child:
1:
Learning about E-motions
Also known as, 'Energy in Motion'. There will be a social story to help talk about how low vibration emotions, such as worry and anger can rise up from within, but also how they are valid to exist and we can visualise sending them love to transform.
2:
Gratitude Practice
Learn why and how daily gratitude practice will drastically improve confidence and the way we look at mindfulness. They will learn empowering gratitude activities, while connecting to nature in a boosting way, thereby reducing stress and anxiety- adding more joy and balance every single day.
3:
Kindness Practice
This is about building our “kindness muscles”. We learn the what, why and how to nurture kindness and self-kindness through different activities. Most importantly, discover how to daily connect with your child in a heart-warming way.
4:
Mindful Breathing, Visualisation + Meditation Practice
This is about learning how to use our breath for improved attention skills, calm and impulse control. We learn the what, why and how of mindful breathing and share various mindful breathing activities to see which one resonates best.
